Ahh, the first week of spring break is almost over! What will I do with myself now? Another full week of vacation? The horror! Today I was talking to Ariggs about blogging when I suddenly remembered…Oh yeah! I have a blog! So here I am again, to dust off the cobwebs and start this blog anew. Thanks to everyone for sticking by me this whole time! I love you all!

Addictions of the Day

  • Blue Dash and White Jigsaw might be the most frusturating games I’ve played in awhile…yet I can’t stop playing. If you can get past level 5 in White Jigsaw, well…let’s just say you are a better person than I am.
  • Where the Wild Things Are, the classic children’s book, is being made into a movie. I’m hoping it will become a monstrous (haha, I’m so funny!) hit in the box office and won’t go the route that the Cat in the Hat was taken. I want it to be a bit dark, to keep with the original book, but I guess we’ll all have to wait and see.
  • Classic Disney Music + House Remix = Love
  • Today I am going to give my iPod a total makeover. All of my music right now is just okay. I have a pretty eclectic mix going on but now I’m wanting some change. Any suggestions?
  • Today I ate a spoonful of Ben & Jerry’s Pistachio Ice Cream…and enjoyed every sinful moment.

  • Today, my team totally destroyed the other team in musical Jeoperdy. The score was $3,200 to $200
  • Yum, Swedish Fish are so tasty. They are like gummy bears sophisticated cousin.
  • Another letter from my new school arrived today =]
  • I’m lost adrift a sea of history homework, with no lifeboat in sight.
  • Apparently, piano teachers dislike me.
  • Haha, diabetes is so lovely. I just got a beautiful lecture on remembering to wear socks. If I don’t my foot will be amputated, and then I’ll die. Great…just what I wanted to hear…
  • I enjoy long bike rides and tennis matches
  • I have decided to take dance and tennis as my required sports. As for my required language…who knows?
  • Ugh, I don’t want to write anything of substance today so I’m ending this entry right now. The next one will be longer.

6 Random Things April 22, 2008

Filed under: Days of K,Lists! — Kels @ 10:47 pm

I don’t really feel like blogging today. So here are 6 random things I feel like writing about.

  1. Today, I told Miss F. about the Bike for Diabetes that is taking place this summer. Since I won’t be around next fall, the whole team can walk in the summer.
  2. I can’t wait for the class trip to New York tommorow! We got our bus partners today. I’m with Sarah! We’re both going to feast on Skittles and Cheez-Itz the whole ride. I got a new outfit for the trip. We’re going to go see The Little Mermaid on Broadway. We where originally going to go see the Lin King but the confusion of the Writer’s Strike got eveything mixed up.
  3. Speaking of feasting, I really, REALLY could go for some Chipotle right now.
  4. I’m writing a new story right now. I’m making up characters right now. I can feel the creativity bubbling up inside me.
  5. I’m clearing out my camera for the trip tommorow. Ohh my, uploading takes forever. Only 600 more pictures to go…
  6. Hey Buddy, why the long face? Gas prices got you down?

5 interesting things to photograph March 26, 2008

If you’re at all like me, you take your camera everywhere. But sometimes when I want to start a new project, I have no ideas. Recently, I was addicted to snapping pictures of all my meals. Then for a while it was teapots, and now it seems to be self portraits. Any photographer will tell you that some days are better for picture taking than others. But unfortunatly, even the best photographer will have an off day when they can’t think of anything to snap. With this list you won’t have to worry about finding an interesting topic on even your worst photo days.

  1. Food Even the most artistic photographer has to eat sometimes. Alot of times you have to act quickly when photographing food because in a matter of minutes your beautiful fresh entree could start to look like a big mess. (Note: It really helps to turn on Macro mode for food pictures.)
  2. Fireworks During the summer months, you are sure to see some fireworks sooner or later. However, it can be difficult. Remember to bring a tripod, extra memory cards, and a good location. Even though the thought of photographing a subject that constantly moves and disappears in daunting, it can also be well worth it when you see your beautiful pictures.
  3. Children Little kids can be the perfect subjects. If you have children or younger siblings, take them out to the park on a sunny day. Let them run around there for a while. Trust me, children at their happiest is one of the best things to witness. And being able to captue that moment forever is priceless.
  4. Pets Think about your pets. Do you love them? Do you wish you could let others understand how you feel about them? Spend the day photographing them doing what animals do. Running in a forest, making a mess, or just being cute. Whatever they do, make sure you have your camera ready.
  5. Your Breakfast Believe it or not, your breakfast can say alot about you. There are flickr groups that are all about breakfast pictures. Plus, this one is really easy. All you have to do is snap a picture before you start to eat every morning. It’s pretty easy and will work for lunch or dinner also. (Go ahead, go wild and snap all your meals)

Basically, you can photograph anything you want. When you’re feeling low on creative power, just look around you. Almost anything you see will make for an intresting picture. Just remember to be creative, use good lighting, and always have your camera with you.
